Summer Horsemanship Camp |
Equibest is offering two one-week sessions of horsemanship camp designed for children ages seven to fourteen years old who love horses, want to ride and learn horsemanship. These sessions are designed for beginner riders and are offered Tuesday July 18th through Saturday July 22nd from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Students will ride daily under careful supervision in these sessions. Beginners will be introduced to the basics: the responsibility of horse care and maintenance, safety rules, barn etiquette, tacking up, tack care, parts of the horse, grooming and many other aspects of horsemanship. Each camper will have a minimum one-hour riding lesson each day and three hours of un-mounted hands-on experience in many aspects of horse care. On the final day of each camp, a demonstration / play day is scheduled so students may share what they have learned with their family and friends. Enrollment for each session is limited. Do not delay your registration if you are interested as camp sessions are expected to fill quickly. The cost for the one-week camp is $275.00. A non-refundable deposit of $125.00 is required 30 days before the beginning of each session with the balance of $150.00 plus tax (for a total of $164.78) payable on the first day of the camp. Helmets are provided but students MUST bring proper footwear. Riding boots are best, but sturdy boots with a high ankle and heel are permissible. Jeans are a good choice for pants. No shorts please.
