Scottsdale Spring Festival March 15th-19th, 2006
Scottsdale Spring Classic March 22nd-26th, 2006
Equibest took a group of new riders and horses to their very first horse show in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Westworld Horse Park. These horses and riders competed in large classes against some very tough competition from Arizona, Utah, Colorado, California, Texas, New Mexico, and Canada.
Toreo’s Hurrah, an eight year old Thoroughbred gelding owned by Cheryl Koen of Ruidoso, was showing for his first time. He won three classes and several top ribbons with Cheryl riding and also placed in the top ribbons over fences. This pair will be hard to beat in the future.
Aidan, a Thoroughbred gelding owned by Jayna Johns of Ruidoso, won three classes with Jayna and placed in the top five continuously over fences. Jayna was leading the way for championship up until Sunday and then just barely missed the reserve championship in her division. Jayna is attending New Mexico Military Institute this year and has a very full schedule.
Rio Moro, a four-year old Thoroughbred gelding, owned by Peggy Dudman of Alto, placed in the top five consistently over fences and got some very good ribbons with Peggy riding. This was both Peggy and Rio Moro’s very first horse show and they did very well.
Victoria Arrowsmith-Lowe showed her pony, Mac A. Roany, in the recognized medium pony division this year against some of the top pony riders on the west coast. Victoria was nipping at these seasoned riders heels during the two shows and continuously placed in the top ribbons for their first attempt at this higher height. Victoria is staying very busy with her school schedule and is part of the Middle School track team and the Honor Band this year.
Touch of Elegance, a Thoroughbred mare owned by Leslie Parks-Beyer of Carlsbad showed in the Amateur Owner Hunter division placing in the top three consistently and just missing the reserve championship.
Equibest showed Swede, a Swedish Warmblood, and Jojo a Thoroughbred. They are two young horses showing for their first time. Both horses continued to place throughout the show. These horses are among the group of nice horses that Equibest has for sale or lease at this time.
The Equibest Team will be going next to the New Mexico Hunter/Jumper show in Albuquerque at the end of April.
